September Equinox Sunset
I take the picture in the centre of Beijing, at about 6 PM local time Sep 22th 2017. In Beijing, most street is from east to west or from north to south. So equinox day the sunset at the end of the street just behind the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest in Tiantan Park.
The main building in Tiantan Park is the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, where the emperor prayed for good harvests. The round hall, 38 meters high and 30 meters in diameter, has triple eaves and a cone-shaped deep blue tile roof crowned with a gilded knob. Surrounding the hall is a six-meter-high spacious circular stone terrace on three levels, each edged by a balustrade of carved white marble. It has hundreds of years history. I stand on a pedestrian overpass to get this view. At sunset, the sun is block by the mountains, however, it seems like a eclipse. The interval time is about 3 minutes. I composed six images to one image. A big sunspot may be seen at left side of the sun.
My equipment is FS-60cb telescope at 355mm and Canon 6D camera. -
Two Circles: Earth and Halo
At August 15th 2017 morning, I drive a car in USA from Lava Hot Springs to Grand Teton National Park. On my way, at about 10 miles east from Lava Hot Springs, I see large Solar Halo in the east. I park my car and take the images like that. I think blue sky white clouds green grass gold corn and black road is very colorful and beautiful. The solar halo is 22° circle and it has the same shape as the earth.
My equipment is Sony A7RM2 and EF 8-15mm lens at 8mm. f/22 iso400 exposure time is 1/400 second. I compose 11 images to one final image. -
Sunset at Stonehenge
2016 October, I captured this bright sunset at Stonehenge. I took three images with different exposure time and then composed them in HDR.
Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in the English county of Wiltshire, about 2.0 miles (3.2 km) west of Amesbury and 8 miles (13 km) north of Salisbury. One of the most famous sites in the world, Stonehenge is composed of a circular setting of large standing stones set within earthworks. It is at the centre of the most dense complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments in England, including several hundred burial mounds. -

I took three images with different exposure time and then composed them in HDR. Pilatus is very famous in Switzerland even in European which has a story about the legend of the dragon.
